Skilled Lawyer Protecting Your Benefits
A job injury can force you to take time off work. When this happens, your employer's insurance company is obligated to pay you weekly Temporary Total Disability (TTD) benefits, equal to two-thirds of your average weekly wage for the past year.
If you are having trouble getting these payments, I can help. My name is Brian T. Morrow. I provide aggressive representation for injured workers in the Southwest Chicago area. With 32 years of legal experience behind me, I have the knowledge and skill to fight for the workers' compensation benefits you deserve.
If You Are Not Receiving TTD Payments
If you have sustained a job injury that requires you take time off work, TTD payments should start 14 days after your accident. If you do not receive these weekly payments, you must take swift action, including:
- See a doctor of your choice — Your employer or the insurance company may suggest you see a particular physician, one who might try to downplay your injury. To protect yourself, visit a doctor not associated with your employer or the insurer and get an unbiased evaluation. If your physician says your injury requires time off work, get written documentation explaining this.
- Contact my office—I can help ensure you receive the payments that are rightfully yours. I have extensive experience dealing with insurance companies and can work to compel them to pay you TTD benefits.
Other Workers' Compensation Benefits
Other types of disability benefits include:
- Permanent Partial Disability (PPD) — Work injuries resulting in a permanent loss or the loss of use of a specific body part may qualify for PPD benefits. However, these benefits are paid only when the physical condition improves as much as it ever will.
- Permanent Total Disability (PTD) — Workplace injuries that render employees permanently and completely disabled qualify for PTD benefits, which are paid for life.
